As reported today in Deadline, a nine-episode, present-day sequel to Twin Peaks will premiere on Showtime in 2016, marking the 25th anniversary of the original series' ending. The original dream team is in charge: David Lynch will direct, and will co-write and produce with Mark Frost. It's rumored they're set to reunite with Kyle MacLachlan as FBI Agent and utter whackadoo Dale Cooper, and presumably any number of the other actors Lynch has continued to use throughout the years.

Last Friday and again today at 11:30 a.m.—just the time Cooper was first getting into town, in the original show—both Lynch and Frost got all weird on Twitter about it, and before you knew it, it wasn't really clues anymore so much as straight-up informative marketing:
