Goddamn, Weather Channel, way to produce art films on the sly with Weather Caught On Camera, maybe more accurately called Nightmares Caught On Camera.

Something about the way the woman on the edge is transfixed by the coming wave, and the camera lady filming with un-shaking hands is transfixed by the inevitability of the disaster, and then I'm watching that footage, transfixed as well. "Sublime" was what we were taught to call it back in art school: Something that overwhelmed you with immeasurable terror and absolute beauty. It's most often found in nature.

Happily, both the woman and her son in this clip ultimately suffered only cuts and scrapes. Please be safe this summer.
