Sex Box, the "tame, polite, slightly awkward at times and, overall, just dull" British TV series about couples having sex in a ... wait for it ... box, is finally coming to America. WE tv (which is apparently an actual network) has billed it as "the boldest show on TV" and promised "couples will have sex in this box for the first time ever." Good. Nobody wants to fuck in a used sex box.
The trailer doesn't do much to shake the low expectations set by the show's seven-episode British run. Its panel features three boring TV psychologists and a podcaster, and their banter in the trailer makes the show seem like Oprah or Dr. Phil, except that everyone knows the people crying onstage have just fucked.
There is sex, though. And there is a box. They didn't lie about that. There will be 9 episodes of sex and boxes, starting next month. And, again, you don't get to see the sex, which happens inside the box. So I hope you like boxes. And crying.
